Directions to the Gas Museum Leicester
The museum is 1.5 miles south of the centre of Leicester on the A426, Aylestone Road.

By Road
From the north (M1), south (M1), south west (M5,M6,M69), north west (M6/M69) it is easiest to leave the motorway at Junction 21 (M1/M69 interchange).

Take the feeder road towards the city centre, at the roundabout take the A5460. After 1 mile turn right at traffic lights just before the Holiday Inn hotel. After 0.5 mile turn left at T junction onto A426 towards the city centre. After 1.5 miles you will see the clock tower on the left and the entrance is just after the tower.

By Rail
Take a cab! It is about 1.5 miles. Ask for "the gasworks, Aylestone road", or British Gas Services or Transco.

If you wish to walk, take the road opposite the station (Waterloo Way) to Welford road. Turn left at the Leicester Rugby football ground and then, at the crossing at Sanderson Ford cross into Counting House Road with the Safeway supermarket on your right. At the T junction turn left along Aylestone Road, cross over to the other side and keep on this road until you go under the railway bridge when you will see the clock tower.

By Bus
Take a number 37 bus from the city centre.
